She was working in collaboration with many important artists around the world like Robert Wilson, Alvin Lucier, Christian Wolff, Steve Reich, Helmut Lachenmann and Salvatore Sciarrino. She also made the regie for Inannis Xenakis opera ‘Oresteïa’, for Samuel Beckett pieces ‘Words and Music’ and ‘Not I’, for John Cage piece ‘Analphabet’, for Salvatore Sciarrino musical piece ‘Studi per l’intonazzione del mare’ and for Helmut Lachenmann opera ‘The little match seller’.
In collaboration with the Bronx based videoartist Benton C Bainbridge she put on the stage ‘Brother Islands. Places to lose people’ at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center in New York, ‘Diorama 1:Painting’ at Festival Panoramica in Buenos Aires and ‘Sensilia’ an A/V show with the artists Mika Vainio and Lucio Capece, from Berlín, at TACEC Teatro Argentino, La Plata, Buenos Aires.
She has been working for more than a decade at CETC Centro Experimental Teatro Colón , at TACEC Centro de Creación y Experimentación Teatro Argentino and at Ciclo de Música Contemporánea at Teatro San Martín in Buenos Aires, at The Kitchen and at Eyebeam in New York, at ICA in London, at Auditorio parco della musica in Rome and at Arts Festival in Singapur between others.
Minou Maguna made the original videos for Steve Reich piece ‘Drumming’ and for ‘Ballet Mecánique’ by George Antheil. She was making many original painting and video shows in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, Berlín, Bronx, NYC. Invited by The Point Community Corporation Development she shared her videos with skaters from La Plata, Buenos Aires with the South Bronx Community, they were screening to get funds to build a skate park.
She had two writings published, one is about the Phenomenon of the Double and the other is about the Relevance of the Sense of humor as part of the clinic of psychoanalysis.
In collaboration con Benton C Bainbridge she is working in ‘Language lifework’ a documentary about Bill Etra work , a pioneer video artist and co-creator of the Rutt-Etra video synthesizer. Comissioned by Fundación Proa she has made a curation of ‘Videos experimentales de artistas de New York’ for MIX’05 event.
For three years now she runs Seminario Cuatro Cabezas a project to create a personal multimedia piece. During 2016 she will start with the second part of the Project COM(a) which goal is to make the staging of the pieces.
She is doing every year from 2014 a new painting show at American Beauty Gallery in Buenos Aires.
Maguna have been working with Heiner Goebbels to stage her video for De Materie, the Louis Andriessen ópera at Teatro Argentino in August 2016 and at Teatro Colón in March 2017.
In May 2017 she will travel to Bogotá to run an Stage about Fluxus Movement in a Festival dedicated to John Cage at Museo de Arte de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia
Biografía
Minou Maguna vive y trabaja en Buenos Aires. Pintora, Psicoanalista, Escenógrafa, Profesora, Directora de Arte y Directora de Escena, también realiza obras multimedia. donde explora los nuevos modos de interactuar entre los humanos, las máquinas, los algoritmos y el ambiente, siempre buscando profundizar en una poética del arte.
En los últimos años ha intensificado su trabajo en el campo de la pintura realizando dos muestras en su ciudad de orígen PiC NIC en el Pasaje Pan en el 2011 y PINTURAS SALVAJES en el Espacio de la terraza del Hotel Esplendor Savoy Rosario y una muestra HEBDOMEROS. PAISAJES METAFISICOS en la galería Belleza Americana en Buenos Aires en el 2014.
Sus trabajos en el campo del Teatro Musical fueron muy festejados en la Argentina y ha estrenado en New York, Londres, Berlín, Roma, Singapur, Manizales (Colombia) y Lima (Perú).
Ha trabajado al lado de artistas de la talla de Robert Wilson, Alvin Lucier, Salvatore Sciarrino, Helmut Lachenmann y Christian Wolff entre muchos otros.

En el 2014 invitada como Residente de Investigación por Signal Culture, New York institución que continúa la tarea del Experimental Television Center dirigido desde en 1971 hasta su cierre por Sherry y Ralph Hocking quienes aún continúan su guía.
Now she is working in a Documentary about Bill Etra, a pioneer video artist and co-creator of the first analog video synthesizer Rutt-Etra, in collaboration with Benton C Bainbridge. Both artists are from New York. At the same time she will make a visual installation for Martín Bauer piece ‘La nueva escritura’ which will perform al Clang Cut Book Festival in Kirche St. Elisabeth. Berlin.
May 2013 she created and directed the Celebration of Teatro Juan de Vera 100 years and the Aniversary of Revolución de Mayo a comission from Cultura Corrientes, Argentina.
In this year she made the regie for the Helmut Lachenmann opera The little machtgirl at Colon Theatre .
She also did the video insatllation and the video performance for V:O an opera by Martín Bauer y Beatriz Sarlo at CETC Teatro Colón.
In march 2016 she will made a collaboration setting the Heiner Goebbles an Klaus Grunberg ‘Shifter Dingers’ in Argentina.
Currently she is theaching, painting and working on her new piece ‘ Dioramas vecinales’ an A/V installation with texts and performers.
